Overall, the number of women interested in cryptocurrency is still low, at around 13%. But since the beginning of the year, the poll shows that interest has risen from 6% to the present level. What makes these growth figures especially impressive is the overall drop in cryptocurrency when measured by Google search results.
Searches that pertain to the major cryptocurrencies have fallen off a cliff since the year began and seem to be following prices down. Bitcoin-related searches have fallen by a whopping 75% since the year began, and Bitcoin isn’t alone. According to Google Trends data reproduced by CNBC, searches for Ethereum are down by 70%, and searches for XRP are down by more than 80%.
This puts the rising interest of women in cryptos into perspective and shows that despite the falling interest overall, cryptos are still growing in popularity among some demographics.
